University Of Rhode Island Awards Holds 130th Commencement

KINGSTON, RI (08/23/2016)-- At the University of Rhode Island's 130th Commencement on Saturday and Sunday, May 21-22, 2016, about 3,300 undergraduate and 700 graduate degrees were awarded. The former students became the University's newest alumni.
The following students from Tewksbury graduated from the University:
- Erin M Tibbetts of Tewksbury, MA, received a Doctor of Pharmacy. Graduated Cum Laude.
- Jaime Daria Makooi of Tewksbury, MA, received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Graduated Cum Laude.
Students who received the honor summa cum laude graduated with a cumulative grade point average (GPA) of at least 3.7; students who received the honor of magna cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.50; and students who received the honor of cum laude graduated with a GPA of at least 3.3.
The University of Rhode Island's pioneering research extends the University's influence well beyond its coastal borders, while its unique interdisciplinary courses provide about 17,000 undergraduate and graduate students with global opportunities in an intimate environment. In May 2016, about 3,300 undergraduate and 700 graduate degrees were awarded. The University now has about 120,000 alumni worldwide.
