Tewksbury Man Suffers Serious Injuries In Wilmington Crash

Two men, including a Tewksbury resident, suffered serious injuries in a one-car accident, Tuesday night in Wilmington.
According to Wilmington Police and witness reports, the crash too place around 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Lake Street and Jacques Lane. The vehicle involved, identified as a 2012 Honda CRV, sustained heavy damage from a collision with a utility pole.
Wilmington Police identified two victims in the crash. The driver was a 40-year-old Wilmington resident and his passenger was a 37-year-old Tewksbury resident. Both sustained serious, life-threatening injuries. The names of the victims were not immediately released.
According to Police, the driver was transported by ambulance to Lahey Clinic in Burlington. the passenger was taken by Med-Flight to Mass General Hospital in Boston.
Witness reports indicate excessive speed may have contributed to the crash, according to the WPD. The crash is currently under investigation with the assistance of the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
