Tewksbury Police Department Announces Promotion

 Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy B. Sheehan is pleased to announce the promotion of Patrolman Michael Newcomb to Sergeant. A swearing-in ceremony was held in Sgt. Newcomb’s honor at the Tewksbury Police Department on Wednesday, Aug. 31. 

Sgt. Newcomb has been a Tewksbury Police Officer since 2010 with 8 years of prior law enforcement experience as a dispatcher for the Bedford Police Department. He is one of the Department's Field Training Officers and has been instrumental in the training and mentoring of recruit officers since April of 2015.

Sgt. Newcomb has been the recipient of numerous awards throughout her 6 year tenure to include Tewksbury Police Department’s Exceptional Performance in Law Enforcement Award in 2013, 2014, and 2015. He also received the AAA Traffic Safety Hero Award in 2014 and has been an instrumental member of the Department’s social media team since its inception in 2014. Michael has a master's degree in criminal justice from Southern New Hampshire University.
