TRIPS – Newburyport, lunch & shopping on your own. $17 p/p. Price includes round trip bus transportation. This trip involves some walking on uneven, brick sidewalks. Call or come into the Senior Center to sign up. Newport, RI Mansions Tour - December 1st to 2nd – 2 day, 1 night trip to Newport, RI to see two mansions decorated for the holiday season. We have negotiated a great rate and have passed this value on to you! $235 pp double/$296 pp single occupancy. Luxury Coach Bus, 3 meals, 1 night stay, 2 mansion tours are all included. SILVERTONES 15TH ANNIVERSARY DANCE – Friday, September 16th. Doors open at 6:30pm until 10:00pm. Performance begins at 7:00pm. $5.00/ticket and can be purchased at the Senior Center.
COMEDY NIGHT at the Senior Center is being planned for September 17th. We have enlisted the help of several comedians to get a chuckle out of you! Join us for an evening of fun, food and laughter. Tickets are available for $15 p/p. Tables of 10 can be reserved with full payment. Cash bar w/beer and wine.
COFFEE WITH THE DIRECTOR – Friday, September 16th at 10:30am – Join us for a coffee while listening to the Director’s update on all things happening at the Senior Center and the plans for her maternity leave.
NUTRITION DISCUSSION GROUP beginning on September 16th from 10-11:30am. UMASS Lowell Graduate Student, Haylee, will be holding discussion groups on Fridays, introducing a new topic each week in the area of nutrition. Flyer with dates & topics to follow.
NUTRITION WORKSHOP on Tuesday, September 20th at 10:30am we have registered dietitian, Leigh Hartwell, of Elder Services of the Merrimack Valley (ESMV) giving a workshop. Come and learn about sodium and heart healthy eating, followed by questions & answers with the dietitian.
ELDER ABUSE AWARENESS WORKSHOP on Thursday, September 15th from 1-2pm we will be joined by Claire Whitten of ESMV. She will be presenting on Elder Abuse Awareness, highlighting what to look for and how to follow-up on any concerns you may have.
A SALAD BAR is being offered on Tuesdays and Wednesdays at the Senior Center from 11:30am to 12:30 pm. Fresh salad ($2/$4) and a “soup of the day” ($2) will be available every week. Soup is priced at $2 for all age groups. This is a very healthy and affordable lunch option for our seniors! Open to all ages.
TECHNOLOGY APPOINTMENTS – Mondays & Wednesdays - Call the Senior Center to make a ½ hour appointment for help with your smart phone, tablet, or laptop.
NEW COA VAN –Trip to Market Basket every Friday for those who need a ride. Pick up at senior’s homes between 9-10am, shopping between 10-11am with drop offs between 11-12:00pm. 2-bag limit per senior. $2.00 donation round trip. Companions ride for free.
