The Tewksbury Cultural Council has set an October 17, 2016 online application deadline for organizations, schools and individuals to apply for grants that support cultural activities in the community.
The MA Cultural Council has opened the online application as of SEP 1st. ONLY online applications will be accepted this year. No paper forms will be accepted. As a previous applicant, you would have been invited to participate in a webinar in August to learn about the online process. If you missed it, there is a link to the Youtube recording of the applicant webinar here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1MC8OF73upM

The Tewksbury Cultural Council will host an informational meeting for the community on Saturday SEP 24th, at 9:30am to 10:30am, in the large meeting room at the Tewksbury Public Library. This meeting will be open to the public. We will present the basic information about the grant funding process, timeline, and priorities of this local council. We will take input from the public on priorities for the future, and questions about the online application process for proposals. There is access to public computers at the Library, and from 10:30am to 11:30am we will offer helpful insight in the online process using the public computers if you'd like to complete the process with assistance.
According to Council spokesperson Pat Stratis, these grants can support a variety of cultural projects and activities in Tewksbury -- including exhibits, festivals, field trips, short-term artist residencies or performances in schools, workshops and lectures.
The Tewksbury Cultural Council is part of a network of 329 Local Cultural Councils serving all 351 cities and towns in the Commonwealth. The LCC Program is the largest grassroots cultural funding network in the nation, supporting thousands of community-based projects in the arts, sciences and humanities every year. The state legislature provides an annual appropriation to the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency, which then allocates funds to each community.
We estimate that the 2017 grant total will be approximately $8900! Previously funded projects include: Tewksbury’s Festival of Trees, Tewksbury Community of Artists’ Annual Art Show, High School theatrical and spoken-word performances, and artist performances and programs for children and adults hosted in Tewksbury locations including the public library and senior center and in our school system.
