More than 3,000 men, women and children were murdered on the morning of Sept. 11, 2001, in a coordinated terrorist attack targeting New York City and Washington, DC.
Of the victims, nearly 100 were Massachusetts residents and two were from Tewksbury (Peter Gay and Peter Hasham).
On Sunday, Tewksbury residents gathered at the 9/11 Memorial on Main Street to make the statement that while 15 years may have come and gone since the attacks, the events and the victims, will never be forgotten.
Guest speakers for the event included Larissa Gay, daughter of Tewksbury victim Peter Gay, and Jacqui  Webb, a survivor of the Boston Marathon bombings.
Music was provided by the Tewksbury Memorial High School Band. Senior Mikayla Dolan closed the ceremony with a moving rendition of "Amazing Grace."
Earlier in the ceremony, Michael Lally sang "God Bless America."
Attached are photos and videos from the ceremony, courtesy of Mark Kratman and State Sen. Barbara L'Italien.
