Recent Study Indicates Tewksbury Schools Among Most Improved In The State

recently released study conducted by the real estate firm Trulia and, shows that the Tewksbury Public Schools are one of the most improved districts in Massachusetts.
The study analyzed standardized test scores, such as MCAS and PARCC, from 2011 through 2015, focusing on school districts with at least three schools and at least 1,000 students.
According to the results, Tewksbury had ranked 40th in Greater Boston in 2011 but had improved to 28th in 2015. That jump of 12 placings was the second best improvement among the districts in the study, trailing only Melrose, which jumped 17 places.
The results of the study were an encouragement to members of the Tewksbury School Committee and the administration.
"It just goes to show how hard everyone is working in the district," said School Committee Chairwoman Krissy Polimeno. "We're (improving) leaps and bounds. This is good news for us."
"It's a good recognition. You get a lot of different sources for things like this. You try to pinpoint which ones are based in data, which ones may be based on surveys. So you have to take a close look at that," said new Superintendent of Schools Chris Malone, adding that the focus of his team will be looking ahead at ways in which the district can continue to improve.
"It is good to get that recognition. but we're just getting into that season where we start looking at MCAS results," he said.

The chart below shows the Top 10 improved Greater Boston districts, according to the Trulia/ study, along with the median home sale price in each community.
