Community Of Artists Cancels Fall Show, Seeks New MembersOct 01, 2016 05:24PM ● By Bill Gilman
Tewksbury Community of Artists.
The Tewksbury Community of Artists regretfully announces that they will not be hosting their Annual Fall Art Festival in 2016. Typically this event is held at the Wynn School in early October and it is the TCA’s largest event of the year, and features artwork from local school children, and adult artists, both amateur and professional.
Jeannette Waugh, the TCA’s current chairman, explains, “Over the last 2 years, we have needed to scale down this event due to declining participation and lack of volunteers. We want to provide a quality cultural event for the town, but it takes a lot of people to help make that happen. This was a tough decision to make, but it was a necessary one at this point in time. We are hoping to rebound in 2017, and we are looking forward to hosting our usual spring and fall art shows next year. We apologize to everyone that was looking forward to participating and attending this fall, and we hope you give us the opportunity to make it up to you next year.”
The Tewksbury Community of Artists is actively seeking artists and members to help strengthen our local art community. We have a small, friendly group of artists that enjoys occasional field trips to local museums, participating in local art shows, supporting each other, and the artistic opportunities around town.
