Lawrence Man Arrested On Drug Trafficking Charges In North Tewksbury

 (Editors note: The following information was released by the Tewksbury Police Department.)

On May 1, 2017 the Tewksbury Police Department arrested Nelson Olivo-Valentin, 25, of 141 Amesbury St., Apt. #104, Lawrence for trafficking heroin, over 36 grams and trafficking cocaine, over 18 grams.      

Detectives conducted an investigation and were able to purchase 20 grams of heroin in an undercover capacity from Olivo-Valentin at the Lodge at Ames Pond apartment complex off Andover Street.  

After Olivo-Valentin was placed into custody, additional narcotics were located inside of his vehicle.  A sophisticated mechanical hidden compartment was located inside his vehicle where narcotics were being kept.

 In total, 45 grams of heroin and 22 grams of cocaine were confirmed.

There is no connection to the Lodge at Ames Pond apartment complex in this case; it was only a meeting location.  

Olivo-Valentin was arraigned on May 2 at Lowell District Court.
