Tewksbury Memorial Day Schedule of Events

Flowers are laid at the Tewksbury Memorial Day Ceremony.

The Memorial Day Schedule for Tewksbury is as follows:

  • 11:00AM- 21 Gun Salute at the Miceli Bridge, next to the Knights of Columbus on Route 38
  •  12:00PM-1:45PM Ceremony at East Street Cemetery with Guest Speaker Harold F. Brown, III, USAF and Army Veteran, Lisa Downey, Tewksbury Veterans Agent (in the case of inclement weather, ceremony will be moved to Town Hall)
  •  2:00PM-4:00PM Parade begins promptly at Town Center and continues along Main Street to Livingston Street (near Aubuchon Hardware).

Sixty-one groups are participating in the parade including dance troupes, marching bands, cheerleading groups, the Sons of Italy, Knights of Columbus, the Lions Club, the Elks, elected officials, classic cars, Habitat for Humanity, police and fire color guards and more! The parade will happen rain or shine. Bring a chair and plan ahead as Main Street will be closed from noon to 4:00PM.  Questions can be directed to Selectman Mark Kratman at 978.726.2912.

 The following traffic alert, relative to the parade, was released by the Tewksbury Police:

This is an important message from the Tewksbury Police Department. The Memorial day Parade will be held on Monday, May 29th, 2017 at 2PM starting at the Ryan School and ending at Brooks Plaza (next to Mac’s Dairy Farm). Main Street from Marshall Street to Livingston Street and all side streets that enter onto Main Street in that area will be closed from approximately 1245pm - 5PM. The detour for Main Street (northbound) heading towards Lowell from Wilmington line will be: Livingston Street to East Street to Main Street. The detour from Main Street (southbound) heading towards Wilmington from Lowell line will be Marshall Street to Whipple Road to Shawsheen Street to Main Street. Pleasant Street will be closed in both directions from 12PM to 5PM for the parade marchers to line up. Please plan accordingly, thank you
