Three people have been arrested and arraigned in connection with a series of armd robberies at convenience stores in Tewksbury and Billerica earlier this month.

On Oct. 17, the Tewksbury Police Department, with the assistance of the Billerica Police Department, arrested Peter Delpapa, 48 of 0 Brandon St., Billerica, for Armed Robbery.

The day before, Billerica Police had arrested Michael Girouard, 60, also of 0 Brandon St. A third suspect, Nicole Donlon, 36, was arrested and charged with being an accessory after the fact.

All three were arraigned Oct. 18 in Lowell District Court.

According to the TPD, on October 16, at approximately 4:30 A.M., officers responded to the Mobil gas station at 2 Main Street for a report of an armed robbery.  During the robbery, a white male entered the store wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, with a black hat and black gloves. He approached the register and asked for cigarettes. He then lifted the right side of his sweatshirt and showed a handgun in his waistband. He then demanded all the money in the drawer.

After he received the money, he exited the store toward Main Street. Tewksbury Police patrol cars responded to the location, along with State Police K-9, and conducted a search of the area. Detectives also responded and began to conduct an investigation.

This armed robbery appeared to be similar to two armed robberies that had occurred in Billerica on Sunday Oct. 15.  Detectives conducted the investigation with the Billerica PD and were able to identify Delpapa as the primary suspect in the armed robbery. A search warrant was executed at 0 Brandon St., Billerica, where the sweatshirt, gloves, black hat, and a handgun were recovered. Delpapa, however, was not at the residence.

On Oct. 17, Tewksbury  Detectives were able to locate Delpapa in the McDonalds on Boston Road in Billerica, at which time he was taken into custody.

Delpapa was courtesy booked at Billerica Police Department, then transported to the Tewksbury Police Department where he was booked for Armed Robbery and Possession of a Firearm Without a License.

Billerica Police arrested Girouard on Monday after releasing a surveillance video of an armed robbery of a Petrolex gas station in Billerica at 3:23 am Sunday. A second Billerica location, the Variety plus convenience store on Nashua Road, was robbed Sunday at 7 pm by a man brandishing a weapon similar to the one used in the Petrolex robbery.

Prosecutors allege Donlon acted as a getaway driver for at least one of the robberies.
