TRAFFIC ALERT: Shawsheen Street To Be Closed Two Days For Railroad Work

 (Editor's note: The following information was released by the Town of Tewksbury.)

Beginning Saturday, Nov. 4, Pan-Am Railways will be reconstructing the railroad crossing on Shawsheen Street in the vicinity of 1585 Shawsheen St. 

As a result of this construction, Shawsheen Street will be closed from 7:00 a.m. on Saturday Nov. 4 until 7:00 p.m. on Sunday Nov. 5. A passenger vehicle detour will be set up utilizing Ballard Street, Maple Street and Whittemore Street. 

The Heavy Commercial Vehicle detour will use East Street, Chandler Street and Main Street. The Town has coordinated this work with Pan Am to occur on a weekend in order to avoid impacts to commuter and school bus traffic.
