This ice sculpture, sponsored by the Wilmington-Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce, was presented as part of the 2017 Tewksbury Lighting of the Common.

Several hundreds residents gathered on the Town Common Friday night for the 2017 Tewksbury Lighting of the Common, officially ushering in the Christmas season.
The event, coordinated by the Public Events and Celebrations Committee, featured Christmas music, supplied by Joe Cobuccio, an ice sculpture, sponsored by the Wilmington-Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce, as well as a barrel fire for toasting marshmallows.
Several local officials were on hand, including state Rep. Jim Miceli and members of the Tewksbury Board of Selectmen.
The festivities were hosted by Cheryl Gay , who recited the traditional Christmas poem, "A Visit From St. Nicholas."
And there was, of course, an actual visit from St. Nicholas, aka Santa Claus, who arrived on a Tewksbury Fire engine to greet hundreds of children in attendance. Santa then led the countdown to the Lighting of the Common. After, Santa made his way over to the Tewksbury Congregational Church to pose for photos with children as part of the church's annual Pie Social.
If you missed the festivities or you just want to re-live the event and try and catch a glimpse of your friends and neighbors, enjoy the video below, taken by YTT Editor Bill Gilman.
