Due to the extreme cold temperatures forecasted for the region over the next several days, the Tewksbury Department of Public Works strongly recommends residents keep an indoor faucet running lightly throughout the day and night while temperatures remain in single digits.
This practice keeps water slowly moving throughout your plumbing system, which helps to prevent freezing both in your underground water service and your indoor plumbing. Freezing water in piping is not only disruptive to your home, but can also potentially cause damage that is very costly to repair.
