REPORT: Miceli Hospitalized After Collapsing At Democratic Caucus

State Rep. James Miceli, D-Wilmington, has been hospitalized, after collapsing at a Democratic Party caucus, Wednesday morning.

According to a State House News report, Miceli, 82, was attending the event at the Omni Parker House in Boston, when he collapsed in a doorway.

According to a witness, Miceli was conscious when he was loaded into an ambulance and taken to a nearby hospital.

His condition was not immediately available.

Many members of the Democratic caucus had been in Northampton on Tuesday for the funeral of Rep. Peter Kocot, who passed away earlier this month from cancer. It's not known if Miceli attended the funeral.

According to the State House News report, Miceli's family is with him at the hospital.

Miceli, who has represented the 19th Middlesex District since 1977 and has announced his intention to seek re-election this fall.
