Tewksbury Ready For A Full Day Of Memorial Day Activities

Flowers are laid at the Tewksbury Memorial Day Ceremony.

Tewksbury will honor the memories of residents who gave their lives in service to their country, with a full schedule of events on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28.

Memorial Day Ceremony

The primary ceremony will take place at 12 Noon at the Tewksbury Cemetery on East Street.
The program of the event is, as follows:

Guest Speaker………..……………………………………………Mr. Scott R. Delaney, United States Army Veteran

  

Specialist Scott R. Delaney enlisted in the United States Army in 2011 and completed the Combat Medic/Healthcare Specialist training at Fort Sam Houston, TX (now Joint Base San Antonio). He was then stationed at Joint Base Lewis-McChord (formerly Fort Lewis), WA, and served with the 4th Stryker Brigade until it disbanded in 2014. He then joined the 2nd Stryker Brigade and deployed as part of the Pacific Pathways Operation. During this time, he trained frontline medical personnel from the militaries of Malaysia and Japan. 

In October of 2015, he separated from active duty and entered the Army Reserves, and still serves as a medic in the 399th Combat Surgical Hospital, pursuing a degree in Archaeology in his free time.

The Parade will begin at 1 p.m., starting at Main Street at Town Hall and end at Brooks Plaza (1777 Main Street), behind John Ryan's Pubs.
