The U12-4 Tewksbury Girls had a great weekend at the Commissioner's Cup in Woburn coming in 1st place for their division and completing an undefeated season!

The first game was against Westford.  It was a tough game.  Delia Conte had many shots but Westford's goalie made some impressive saves. Maya Madera and Kennedy Pereira met the challenge helping to stop Westford from shooting on net.  It was 0-0 at the half.  A few minutes into the second half, Maya Madera took the ball all the way upfield and scored putting Tewksbury ahead 1-0.  Gianna Ausiello, Brenna Follett, Sabrina Grimes, and Julia Moura were putting pressure on Westford's defense with their speed and passing.  Kelli Anderson got the ball off a throw in and found an open Ani Nazarian who shot and scored putting the girls up 2-0.  At the end of the game Rachel Lochiatto dribbled up the middle of the field and passed the ball through to Rachel Lochiatto who scored to extend the lead 3-0.  Sarah Rivard was busy making saves and helped Tewksbury in their 3-0 win.

Game 2 was against Billerica.  It is always a tough, physical game when these two teams play.  Tewksbury put the pressure on early. Sabrina Grimes, Julia Moura, Rachel Lochiatto, Elena Lochiatto, Kelli Anderson, Brenna Follett, and Gianna Ausiello kept Billerica's defense on their toes with great passing and many shots on net.  Just before the half Delia Conte scored giving Tewksbury a 1-0 lead.  Billerica also challenged Kennedy Pereira and Maya Madera, they were ready for it and made it difficult keeping the ball near the sidelines and sending it up to their offense.  Billerica tied the game up early in the second half.  Tewksbury didn't get discouraged.  Sara Rivard continued to make some amazing saves in net.  Late in the game.  Delia Conte's corner kick fell right in front of Ani Nazarian who shot, scored, and gave Tewksbury the lead.  Tewksbury came away with a 2-1 win against Billerica.      Game 3 was against Wilmington. It was an intense game.  Lots of back and forth and good team work.  Gabrielle Couillard, Saesha Wogan, and Maya Madera played tough and showed amazing footwork when challenged by Wilmington.  Although Wilmington didn't get too close to the net, they took tried sending the ball towards Sara Rivard who was ready in net. She quickly got the ball out to her teammates who were ready and waiting.  Delia Conte put Tewksbury up 1-0 firing the ball past Wilmington's goalie.  The girls tried adding to the lead with lots of shots from Rachel Lochiatto, Kelli Anderson, Elena Lochiatto, Julia Moura and Sabrina Grimes.  Ani Nazarian, Kennedy Pereira, Brenna Follett, and Gianna Ausiello were busy in the middle of the field breaking up Wilmington's plays and sending the ball towards Wilmington's net.  Wilmington scored making it a 1-1 game.  After a hard fought game it ended in a 1-1 tie.

When all was said and done, the Tewksbury girls won the Commissioner's Cup for their division and had an undefeated season with an impressive 11-0-1 record.  It was an amazing season for these girls who always had fun and worked as a team every week.  Coaches Tom Pereira and Dave Lochiatto were always there to keep them motivated and focused to have such a memorable season.
