As the race to succeed Jim Micelli heats up, candidates are working hard to secure endorsements.
This week, Democrat Mark Kratman landed a major endorsement from the Massachusetts Teachers Association.
“Mark Kratman will be an outstanding state representative for the 19th Middlesex District,” said MTA President Barbara Madeloni. “As the father of three public school children, Mark is committed to advocating for our students and for our public schools, colleges and universities. He will stand up for working people, and he will do all he can to ensure the success of families and communities throughout the Commonwealth.”
Kratman, a Tewksbury Selectman, is one of five Democrats in the field. He said he was pleased to receive the endorsement of the MTA and looked forward to the opportunity to advocate for public education on Beacon Hill.
"I am proud to receive the endorsement of the Massachusetts Teachers Association. Teachers are the backbone of our community. I am a proud parent of three children that have or are attending our public school system and each day our wonderful teachers change students’ lives," said Kratman. "I have the utmost respect to the dedication and extraordinary kindness that our teachers give to the youth of our community. I will fight harder for the teachers in the 19th Middlesex District as well as all teachers across our Commonwealth and will stand with them when they need any and all assistance."
