UPDATED: Young Boy Struck By Car, Seriously Injured, While Riding Bike

A 7-year-old boy sustained serious injuries when struck by a car while riding a bike, late Wednesday afternoon, in South Tewksbury.
According to a information provided by Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan and the Office of Middlesex DA Marian Ryan, the accident took place around 5 p.m. Emergency crews responded to a 911 call reporting a child had been hit by a Cadillac XT5 on Pratt Street near the Tewksbury Methodist Church.
The victim, who has not been identified, was treated at the scene and then transported to the Med-Flight staging area at Tewksbury Country Club and flown to Tufts Medical Center. The child's condition is not known.
According to Chief Sheehan, the driver of the Cadillac remained on the scene. No charges have been filed.
The accident is being investigated by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, the Tewksbury Police Department and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
