Tewksbury Habitat Build (THB) is a nonprofit organization of volunteers focused on developing affordable family homes in the Town of Tewksbury for low to moderate income families.
In October, Tewksbury Habitat Build (THB) hosted a groundbreaking ceremony at 1047 South St. for their latest affordable home project.
“Since 2015, THB has helped create three affordable family homes: two through our partnership with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Lowell and one with help of Shawsheen Technical High School and many volunteer hours," said Tammy Enax, Vice President of THB. “THB has a small group of core members and is fortunate for all the volunteers and donations that come our way.”
“Today, we embark on our fourth affordable home project. This time, partnering with Shawsheen Technical High School and Northeast Veterans Outreach Center. We are so very excited to build an affordable home for a deserving veteran.”
In addition to THB Members, representatives from Shawsheen Technical High School, the Northeast Veterans Outreach Center, the Town of Tewksbury Planning Board, and local neighbors shared in this official kickoff to this project and new partnership.
Tewksbury Habitat Build and their volunteers have demonstrated an exceptional ability to advocate, fundraise, provide volunteers, and in-kind donations for this program. Its standing in the community along with a solid track record in its short lifespan puts us in an unparalleled position to become a significant asset to Tewksbury Affordable Housing.
The Board of Directors, members, and partners are fully committed to providing affordable family homes in Tewksbury.
THB fundraising activities, solicitation of building materials and professional services with the support of Tewksbury residents, town government, businesses, and local contractors come together to make these projects successful.
