New Hampshire Man Killed In I-495 Crash In Tewksbury

TEWKSBURY -- State Police and Tewksbury emergency crews responded to a fatal crash on Interstate 495 south Friday evening, in which the driver was elected from the car and pronounced dead at the scene.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the crash took place around 6:30 p.m. Preliminary investigation by Trooper Christopher Ryan indicates that a 37-year-old man from Peterborough, NH, was traveling on Route 495 Southbound in a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado when, for reasons still under investigation, the vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and struck the tree line.
The identity of the victim has not been released, pending the notification of family members.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation with assistance from the State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, Crime Scene Services Section, troopers assigned to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office, and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
