Tewksbury Police Lay The Smackdown On Three Alleged Heroin Peddlers

On January 21, 2019 the Tewksbury Police Department arrested Alberto Perez, 53, homeless; Herman H. Rivera, 41, of 25 Dana St., 3rd Fl., Lawrence and Douglas Grasso, 33, of 4 Heather Rd., Georgetown for possession with the intent to distribute a Class A substance, heroin and conspiracy to violate the drug laws. Grasso was also charged with failure to stop for police and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.
Detectives conducted an investigation into suspected drug dealing. Perez, Rivera and Grasso were inside of a motor vehicle at 10 Main St, Stadium Plaza when Detectives conducted a traffic stop. Perez and Rivera exited the vehicle when Detectives approached. Grasso, who was operating the vehicle, fled the scene and was arrested near Rt. 495 after crashing into a snow bank. After heroin was located all three were placed into custody.
All were due to be arraigned at Lowell District Court on January 22, 2019.
