State Police investigators have been searching an area off Livingston Street for the past two days.

State Police investigators were back in Tewksbury on Tuesday, continuing their search of state-owned land located just off Livingston Street, across from Strongwater Farm.
Tuesday marked the third day this month investigators have been at the site. Earlier this month, they brought along multiple K9 units. Monday and Tuesday, the search featured heavy equipment, moving substantial amounts of earth.
Details regarding the search are difficult to come by.
The Tewksbury Police Department, which was also represented at the search, referred all questions to the office of Middlesex District Attorney Marian Ryan. A spokesperson for the DA's office declined to offer details on what, or who, the searchers are looking for.
What the spokesperson did say was that the search was part of an ongoing investigation but that it was not related to any recent events. That has led to speculation that the search could be connected to one of several unsolved missing persons cases in the Merrimack Valley, dating back to the 70s and 80s.
Given the poor weather forecast for the next couple of days, it's not clear when, or if, investigators would be returning to the site to continue their search.
