Election 2019: Candidate Statement From George Ferdinand, Board of Health

Mar 27, 2019 06:49AM ● By Bill Gilman

George Ferdinand is running for a seat on the Board of Selectmen.

Pizza Mia

As an incumbent I would like to share the goals I had 3 years ago and the ones I have for then next 3 years if the residents choose to elect me again.
First I lobbied for the BOH meetings to be televised on cable and by the next meeting that occurred. Secondly the Distribution Center for Market Basket had a temporary dumpster that either needed to be permanently attached or moved. Within 4 months the Director contacted upper Management and they approved this to happen.
Thirdly about 20 citizens came to me about complaints to the BOH not being responded to. Our Director had only been on the job for 6 months and I can truly say that I have not heard from one complaint in the past 3 years that has not been responded to. Lastly review and update the regulations and out of the 14 categories 7 have been adopted and updated since the fall of 2015. Now my goals are to lobby for the the tattoo and dumpster Regulations to be updated. That the compliance of the mandated grease traps in all the businesses be completed by Dec 41st. That 2 employees (not personal friends) in the

department receive additional compensation for going above and beyond what their job calls for. Lastly that I will continue to monitor each month the complaints and that all of them are addressed.
Whether it’s transparency, respect and dignity to each person that comes before the board I expect that they comply with the regs applicable, complaints addressed and finally continued Regulations update I promise to continue to do these. If I haven’t done what I said I would do 3 years ago. Then vote for 2 other candidates but if I have then Vote George Ferdinand on April 6th.
Thank you for my opportunity to serve you. God Bless you, your family and our beloved town.
