Family and friends are mourning the death of Dana Campo. The 47-year-old Tewksbury man was killed in a single-car accident in Saugus, Tuesday morning.
According to Saugus Police, the accident took place around 11 a.m. Campo was driving a Dodge Ram pickup on Main Street, when the vehicle rolled over, trapping him inside.
Emergency crews used hydraulic "jaws" to extricate Campo, who sustained severe injuries. He was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to those injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation the State Police Accident Reconstruction Team, with assistance from the Saugus Police Department.
However, in a telephone message, a family member indicated the accident was caused when Campo suffered a sudden medical crisis.
