Redmen Roundup: Tewksbury Baseball Rebounds With A Pair Of Victories, Tennis Teams Stay Hot

May 14, 2019 07:53PM ● By Bill Gilman
The Tewksbury High baseball team was on the business end of a heartbreaking loss to Dracut High last week. This week, the Redmen got the chance to experience the thrill of a heart-stopping win.
Tewksbury got a tremendous pitching performance from the combination of Tyler Keough and David Miller in a 1-0 win over Billerica. Keough worked the first 5.2 innings, before giving up a two-out double in the top of the 6th and giving way to Miller.
Miller shut down that threat and cleaned up in the 7th to earn the save.
·The only run in the game came in the home half of the first inning, with Ryne Rametta notching the RBI on a bases-loaded sacrifice fly.

Tewksbury 4, Haverhill 2
The Redmen stayed hot with a 4-2 win over Haverhill. Garrett Kingston and Rob Evangelista ripped back-to-back RBI doubles to stake the Redmen to an early 2-0 lead.
A two-out RBI single by Matt Perron pushed the lead to 3-0 in the top of the 5th. A hit by Mike Polimeno and some sloppy fielding by the Hillies made it 4-0.
Haverhill was able to rally with a pair of runs in the bottom off the 5th off Tewksbury Starter Riley Frost. But that was as close as they could get. Nolan Timmons came on to pick up the save.
Tewksbury got some great defense earlier in the game, cutting down a run at the plate on a relay from Timmons to Polimeno to Rametta.
TMHS freshmen win a pair
The TMHS freshman team made it two straight wins. A 7-5 win over Billerica came on the heels of a 6-4 win over Haverhill.
