Obituary: Robert Alan Coste, 59
Robert Alan Coste
Robert Alan Coste- or simply Bob (you can spell that backwards) passed away at age 59 at Lahey Hospital and Medical Center on May 30th after a brief illness.
Bob was a proud graduate from the Machine Shop of Shawsheen Tech, class of 1978, and he was owner of Lockhart Machine Company in Tewksbury, MA, formerly in Wilmington, MA.
During his youth, Bob spent a lot of time at his parents’ cottage in Whitefield, NH, which led to his love of the area. He truly felt at home in NH, “up north” in the White Mountains, the place where he spent most of his free time.
Bob enjoyed quite a few different hobbies and activities over the years, such as fishing, snowmobiling, bee keeping, gardening, tinkering and building things, and weekends at his camper at The Lantern Resort. Most of all, he loved socializing and visiting friends near and far.
Bob was very proud of his loving daughter, Brittany, and he was happy to tell anyone who would listen. He cherished every moment spent with her, especially when she made him her famous chocolate chip cookies.
Along with the many close friends he has made over the years who he considered family, Robert is survived by his daughter, Brittany Kennelly, and her husband, Patrick Kennelly, of Medford, MA, brothers Gene and James Coste and their families. Bob was predeceased by his sister, Diana, and his parents, Leroy and Libby Coste.
Bob’s family would like to thank the staff of Lahey Hospital’s SICU for the amazing care he received from countless compassionate and tirelessly hardworking members of the team during his hospitalization.
A celebration of life was held in Bob’s honor at Tewksbury Country Club in Tewksbury, MA on Thursday, June 6th from 5pm-8pm.
