ADULT EVENTS
Tewksbury Job Seekers Network: Job Opportunities At Hanscom Air Force Base & DoD Contractors (*RR)
Monday, July 15, 2pm
When local people think of working for a Department of Defense (DOD) contractor, they automatically think that the large companies of Raytheon, Lockheed Martin or BAE are their only options. This presentation will provide details on employment opportunities working at Hanscom AFB, working for smaller companies providing support to the DoD. These opportunities encompass not only engineering & technical support positions but also project management & business operations positions. Led by Stephen Trudeau, the Corporate Recruiter for Oasis Systems, a DoD contractor located in Lexington, MA. He has been supporting the DoD industry for over 15 years and is very familiar with the work being conducted at Hanscom and the type of candidates being hired to support the various efforts at Hanscom. OUTDOOR CONCERT SERIES: The American WHO – A WHO Tribute Band

Enjoy a concert from New England's #1 The WHO tribute band, The American WHO. The American WHO is an incredible recreation of one of the greatest British rock bands from the 1960s to the present. The band’s current concert tour, “Long Live Rock,” is an exciting and authentic show that brings the sound of this legendary band to life. Powerful, unpredictable, charismatic and packed with the unstoppable energy and spirit of Daltrey, Townsend, Moon and Entwistle, American WHO presents a virtual “who’s who” of both classic songs and deep cuts that bring back the memories of Leeds, Woodstock, Isle of Wight and other historic shows. This concert will take place on the library's back lawn. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs. In case of inclement weather, concert will take place in the library’s Meeting Room. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Tewksbury Community Market
Tuesday, July 16, 4pm-7pm
The Tewksbury Community Market, located on the library's front lawn, is open from 4pm to 7pm on Tuesdays through September 24. Shop for food, crafts, flowers and more from local vendors and artisans.

HEALTHY LIVING SERIES: Healthy & Allergen Free Baking 101 (*RR)
Tuesday, July 16, 7pm
Are you thinking that now is the time to begin eating healthier, but you don’t want to give up those desserts you really enjoy? Do food allergies or dietary restrictions prevent your family members from enjoying the sweets they crave? Would you like to know how to adapt your favorite baked recipes to accommodate almost any food need you and your family have? Come learn the “secrets” to substituting ingredients in recipes to create desserts which not only are healthier for you, but delicious tasting too. Led by Paula Castner, who - through her personal experience and her knowledge from cooking for family owned restaurants - has almost forty years of familiarity with food allergies and almost twenty years of experience with hypoglycemic and diabetic requirements. Unwilling to give up the treats she likes to eat, she has spent years discovering and perfecting the best ways to make cakes, cookies, breads, and more which meet a variety of dietary needs but also satisfy the desire for something tasty and sweet. Crafternoon

Calling all knitters, crocheters, needle workers, beaders, and colorers! Bring your own craft project to the Library and work on it while enjoying conversation with other crafters. (Please, no crafts involving glue or paint.) Take advantage of the many books available at the library to get ideas for your next project or to explore a new craft.

OUTDOOR LIVING HISTORY SERIES: An Evening with Robert Frost

Actor J.T. Turner will perform his one-man show, “Robert Frost: Light and Dark.” Robert Frost was described by a friend as "a good poet, but a bad man".  America's great poet comes to life in this highly-praised one-man show.  Robert Frost relates stories of his life, the tragedy as well as the humor and he reads some of his most popular poems, including Mending Wall, Birches, Nothing Gold Can Stay, Late Walk, Desert Places, Road Not Taken and Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening. For fans of Frost's work this is a remarkable and intimate journey through the life of the Pulitzer Prize winning poet. This living history performance will take place on the library's back lawn. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs. In case of inclement weather, the performance will take place in the library’s Fairgrieve Wing. Reptile Show For Adults & Teens (*RR)

Why should kids have all the fun? Teens (grades 6 and up) and adults are invited to an interactive reptile show with New England Reptile Shows! Not only will you learn many wonderful facts about various reptiles, but you will get the chance to touch and take pictures with them! Please note a session for children and their families will run from 11am to 1pm. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.

Film Screening: Boy Erased (*RR)

Enjoy a screening of one of Hollywood's latest films -- Boy Erased. The son of a Baptist preacher is forced to participate in a church-supported gay conversion program after being forcibly outed to his parents. Stars Lucas Hedges, Nicole Kidman, Russell Crowe, and Joel Edgerton. Rated R. 115 minutes. Doors will open at 1:30pm. Candy & water will be served. A $1 donation is suggested. Co-sponsored by the Friends of the Tewksbury Public Library and Tewksbury Lions Club.

KIDS’ EVENTS
Start U Reading: Meet Buzz Lightyear!

Meet Buzz Lightyear! Children are invited to participate in an engaging story time and related activities with their favorite spaceman. Parents are encouraged to bring their cameras for photos of their children with Buzz. The U.Fund's Start U. Reading Series is one of MEFA’s statewide early college planning initiatives designed to introduce young students’ to the joy of reading and literacy through inter-disciplinary activities. All participants will have an opportunity to meet Buzz Lightyear, have their photo taken, and receive a fun goody bag to bring home while supplies last. This is a drop-in program, no registration required. This program is geared for children ages 2-6.

Maker Monday
Monday, July 15, 2:30pm-3:30pm
Come on down to get creative and make something unique! Kids 7 to 11 years old are invited to join us for maker crafts! No registration necessary; please drop in. Siblings and caregivers are always welcome.

Preschool Storytime

Movie Matinee: How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World
Tuesday, July 16, 2:30pm
Each Tuesday, we will be showing a great movie! Bring a snack and drink from home, and stretch out on our floor with pillows and blankets if you would like. This week, we will be watching How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World! This movie is rated PG for adventure action and some mild rude humor, and runs for 1 hour and 44 minutes. Children ages 10 and younger must have a parent with them at all times.

Nighttime Craft
Tuesday, July 16, 6:30pm-7:30pm
The Community Market will be out on the lawn every Tuesday night! Make a whole evening of it by stopping into the library! Every week, we will alternate between a Pajamarama Storytime and a fun do-it-yourself craft. Be sure to stop by!

Astronaut Tea Party
Wednesday, July 17, 7pm
Can astronauts drink tea in space?! Join Miss Kat for a tea party celebrating astronauts! We will have a craft, story, tea, and a snack. No need to sign up; please drop in. This program is for children ages 3-6 and their caregivers.

Reptile Show For Children (*RR)
Thursday, July 18, 11am-1pm
An interactive reptile show by New England Reptile Shows! Not only will you learn many wonderful facts about various reptiles, but you will get the chance to touch and take pictures with them! This session is open to preschool through elementary age children (ages 3 to 11) and their families. A session for those in grades 6 through adults will start at 2pm. Free tickets are required to attend this event. Tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis at the Children's Room desk, starting Monday, July 8th. Every “body,” both adults AND children entering the room need a ticket! Limit of 6 tickets per person. Tickets may not be held via phone or email.

Family Fun Fridays: Fairy Houses!
Friday, July 19, 11am-noon
Every Friday, join us for Family Fun Fridays! Come build a tiny house fit for a fairy with us using all-natural materials, such as sticks, bark, twigs, leaves and more! We will build and forage outside behind the library--if you have a favorite building tool, feel free to bring it along. Please note: each program is drop-in; no tickets or sign-up required. Each will be held outside behind the library. If it rains, we will be inside the meeting room. To make these events even more fun, don't forget to bring sunblock, picnic blankets, chairs, snacks, and drinks! Parking is not allowed anywhere on the driveway to and from the Tewksbury State Hospital.

TEEN EVENTS
DIY Lava Lamps (*RR)
Tuesday, July 16, 3:30pm
Weekly Tuesday craft or science activities for anyone entering grades 6 through 12. This week we will be making Lava Lamps! We recommend wearing clothes you don't mind getting food coloring on. We recommend registering for all summer programs.

Teen Gaming (*RR)
Wednesday, July 17, 6pm
Hang out and play video games on the Nintendo Switch, PS4, and Xbox One! Teens are welcome to bring their own games, but they must be rated between E and T.
