Wamesit Lanes To Host Tewksbury Habitat Build's 3rd Annual Cornhole Tourney

Sep 07, 2019 04:15PM

All proceeds of the event will go to the completion of an affordable single family home that has been designated for a veteran and their family.

Tewksbury Habitat Build (THB) is holding its third annual Cornhole Tournament at Wamesit Lanes this Sunday at 11 am.  Cash prizes will be awarded to the top 3 teams, while everyone is encouraged to participate in various raffles throughout the event.

Individuals can sign up for $35 each, or teams can register for $65.  All proceeds of the event will go to the completion of an affordable single family home that has been designated for a veteran and their family.

THB is a 501c3, nonprofit corporation dedicated to increasing the quantity and quality of affordable housing in the Town of Tewksbury.  The current project is a partnership with the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center (VNOC) and Shawsheen Valley Technical High School.  VNOC will manage the property, and select a deserving veteran once it is complete.  The students of Shawsheen Tech have built the home from the foundation up, beginning late last fall.

The funds raised at this great event will help us complete the project, and conclude our South Street project that has already produced two single family affordable homes from an abandoned property that lay vacant and decaying for almost a decade.  More information about
THB and all of our projects can be viewed at our website www,tewksburyhabitatbuild.org
