It may soon be easier for local lottery winners to cash in their winning tickets.
The Massachusetts State Lottery is in the process of looking for locations for new office space. According to a letter sent to State Sen. Bruce Tarr from the Director of the Office of Leasing and State Office Planning, Lottery officials are looking for space in Andover, Burlington, North Reading, Reading, Stoneham, Wakefield, Wilmington, or WoburnPresently, the Lottery has officers in Dorcester, Braintree, New Bedford, Springfield, Woburn and Worcester. It's presumed that any new location would replace the current space in Cummings Park in Woburn.
The primary purpose of the Lottery's satellite offices is as a place for players to redeem winning tickets of $1,000 or more. A location in Andover or Wilmington would certainly make things easier for players from Greater Lowell.
