Plenty of Shuffling In Latest MVC Power Rankings

After a great slate of MVC football games over the weekend, lots of shuffling occured in this week’s Power Rankings.

Let’s start by reviewing what happened last week before diving into the rankings as there is a lot to digest. Central Catholic lost a tough game against another powerhouse squad St. John’s Prep. The Eagles defense was too much for the Raiders to overcome as they held on for a 28-14 win. Still, Central Catholic is in very good shape going forward as they get ready to host North Andover in their first MVC game.

On the road in Tewksbury the Methuen Rangers rode star QB Connor Bryant to a victory. He led his team to a 26-14 win as they prove they are true contenders this season.

North Andover rolled past Lowell. Andover handled Billerica. The Dracut Middies improved to 2-0 after beating Lawrence, and George Peterson got his first win as the Chelmsford Lions head coach against Haverhill.

xThis week, there are a few less MVC games, but the opponents from outside the conference look to bring stiff competition. Let’s not get ahead of ourselves though. Here’s a look at the latest Merrimack Valley Conference football Power Rankings.
