Public Health Museum

The Public Health Museum in Tewksbury is seeking a year round, part- time Office Manager.  As the only paid administrator, this person is the glue for the organization - with the opportunity to work with many dedicated public health professionals and museum volunteers.

What You Will Do

-Prepare for Outbreak!, a high school student event held the first week each August

-Act as the point of contact for museum phone calls and emails

-Manage the museum’s social media postings

-Coordinate meetings and public events

-Prepare documents for board meetings

-Schedule museum tours

-Act as a liaison with the community and press

 

Who You Are

-Able to work an average of 15 hours (some weeks more, some less)

-Highly dedicated, as continuity is integral in this position

-Above average knowledge of Word and Excel, and a familiarity with social media

-Excellent interpersonal skills

-Self Directed and highly organized

-Willingness to work collaboratively with Board of Directors and others to determine best practices for all museum initiatives 

-Prior museum or non-profit exposure preferred

 

The Public Health Museum is an independent 501(c)3 organization, housed in the historic Richard Morris building, also known as the “Old Administration Building”  of Tewksbury Hospital in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, nineteen miles northwest of Boston.
As both a cultural and educational institution, the Museum strives to preserve artifacts and records of our nation’s history in public health and serve as a resource to the community to educate and promote public health initiatives that address current health issues.
