The Tewksbury Redmen Girls U12-1 Soccer Team competed in the 37th Annual North Andover Columbus Day Soccer Tournament.
The Redmen went through the round-robin portion of the tournament with a 2-1-1 record, with their only loss coming against a strong Dracut team 2-1 on a last second goal.
The Redmen Girls would get revenge as they battled against Dracut in the Championship Game.  After a scoreless 1st half thanks to some great saves from Sammy Ryan, the Redmen girls took a 1-0 lead early in the 2nd half on a goal by Lyla Chapman.
Dracut had many chances to tie the game but outstanding defense and some timely saves from goalkeeper Maggie Kinnon kept the lead for the locals.  Maya Paquette increased the lead to 2-0 on a pretty Penalty Kick Goal.
The Redmen girls closed out the game with a 2-0 win and celebrated the Championship with their coaches Krissy Naughton, Steph Baron, & Beth Anne Maresca.
