TMHS Names October Rotary Club Hats Off Winners

I am pleased to provide you with the names of the two senior students of the Class of 2020 who have been nominated for the Tewksbury Rotary Club October 2019 Hats Off Award.  The students will be honored at a Rotary Club Luncheon to be held on Thursday, October 17th, at the Tewksbury Country Club at 12:15 p.m.  I am also forwarding to you copies of their student profile and senior portraits.

Hat’s Off is a joint initiative of the Tewksbury Rotary Club and Tewksbury Memorial High School.  The award recognizes those students who have distinguished themselves academically, have contributed to the co-curricular program at the High School and have been actively involved in the community.

Colby Brown ‘20

Enrolled in 3 AP courses (Economics, U.S. Government/Politics, and Psychology)

Achieved a 5/5 score for AP Psychology exam

GPA: 4.3/4.5

Rank: Top 10% of the Class of 2020

 Recipient of numerous Renaissance Gold Card Awards for academic excellence

Maintained Principal’s List every year

Awarded $1,500 scholarship to attend Catapult Incubator (Six-week entrepreneurship camp)

Honored at Tewksbury town meeting for excellence in DECA competition

Community Service:   Volunteer at Tewksbury Food Pantry

Volunteer for Operation Backpack (fill backpacks for low income students)

 Volunteer for the Tewksbury Annual Bike Rodeo

Volunteer for Hoops for Heroes – coached a basketball team to benefit veterans

Volunteer coach for Tewksbury Youth Lacrosse Program

Work Experience:     Resort team member at the Pelham House Resort in Cape Cod

Crew member at Cape Cod Waterways Kayaking and Paddle Boarding

Staff member/party host at Merrimack Valley Pavilion in Tewksbury

Other: During the summer, I live and work in Cape Cod; very cool opportunity and experience
