A 34-year-old Tewksbury woman has been charged with human trafficking and for running a brothel out of a supposed physical therapy business on Route 38.
On Thursday, Tewksbury Police detectives executed a arrant and arrested Xuedan Ou, 34, of 3105 Archstone Ave., Tewksbury for trafficking a person for sexual servitude, keeping a house of prostitution and deriving support from prostitution.
Acording to Tewksbury Police Chief Timothy Sheehan, detectives conducted a nine-month investigation into sex trafficking and prostitution at the TCM Therapy Center located at 616 Main St., Apt #4.
On Thursday, search warrants were executed at the business and the home of Ou, where she was placed into custody.
"This complex investigation that went on over the course of nine months is still ongoing with many moving parts," said Sheehan. "Our Detective Division did an incredible job persevering through the intricacies of this type of investigation to build a solid case and have really set the standard for future investigations of this nature."
It was not immediately known if the raid and arrests are connected to similar raids and arrests for human trafficking and running a brothel in other Massachusetts communities, including Dracut,
over the past two years.
Ou was arraigned at Lowell District Court on Friday.
