Paige will be looking to improve on her 7th place finish in Division 1 at the 2018 State Meet, but it won't be easy.
Throughout this cross-country season, Paige has been fighting body cramps that threatened to sideline her for the season. She was forced her to drop out of the Merrimack Valley Conference Championship Meet just 2 weeks ago even though she was the front runner entering the race.
Last Saturday Paige was able to overcome the pain and finished fourth overall in the Eastern Mass D3 Championship Meet in Wrentham. She bested her previous times and as freshman and sophomore with a time of 19 minutes and 14 seconds.
She won the Junior division race of 3.1 miles as she outran approximately 300 other runners from across Massachusetts.
Since this pain plagued her throughout the season, Paige has come up with a new strategy to keep herself at a steady pace, and pain-free. Her plan is to pace herself above the six-minute mark per mile.
Paige will be joined on Saturday by senior teammate Meghan Ostertag who finished twelfth in the Eastern Mass Championship Meet to also qualify for the All-State Meet.
