Tewksbury Library Holds A Very Fancy Tea Party With Special Guest, Robin Preiss Glasser!
TEWKSBURY – Calling all fancy aficionados!
The Tewksbury Public Library is very excited to welcome illustrator Robin Preiss Glasser, of the FANCY NANCY children’s picture book series, for a very special library event on Tuesday, Dec. 3!
encouraged to dress in their fanciest of fancy outfits, and there will be a
fashion parade with Robin as the Master of Ceremonies. And, that's just the
icing on the very fancy cake – lots of fun activities are planned. A rough
schedule of events is as follows:
- 6pm - Meet Robin Preiss Glasser, make a crown, fancy questions.
- 6:30 - Practice fancy walking, fancy outfit parade.
- 7:00 - Fancy snacking, a story with Robin, questions and answers.
- 7:30pm - wrap up!
“We are so excited to welcome such a famous illustrator,” said Children’s Specialist Heather Maganzini. “It’s not often that the Children’s Room has the budget for an author or illustrator visit, and to have it also be a fancy tea party—well, that’s so, so exciting for us. We’re already readying our feather boas and fancy hats, looking forward to the fun!”
About Robin: Robin Preiss Glasser, a former professional ballet dancer, has illustrated more than fifty children's picture books, including the New York Times bestselling FANCY NANCY series, written by Jane O'Connor. In 2013, she was awarded Illustrator of the Year from the Children’s Choice Book Awards. FANCY NANCY was adapted into a musical in 2012, and also adapted as a children’s television series on Disney Junior in June 2018. Robin lives in San Juan Capistrano, California, with her husband, Bob. She has two grown children, Sasha and Ben.
