TMHS DECA Presents Generous Donation to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute

Jan 07, 2020 09:24AM ● By Casey Stevenson

The Tewksbury Memorial High School DECA Club's 10th annual Meghan McCarthy Memorial Fashion Show, raised a total of $16,116 through the efforts of DECA members and fashion show participants.

However, DECA does not keep this money, but instead put it towards cancer treatment and the research necessary to finding cures through the Meghan McCarthy Research Fund at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute.

On Dec.16, Colby Brown, Victoria Schille, Rebecca Defrancesco, and the other hard-working members of DECA presented Sarah Eldredge, a Development Officer for Special Events and representative for Dana Farber, the, literally and figuratively, large check of $16,116 to put towards the Meghan McCarthy Research Fund.

TMHS should be very proud of its DECA Students using their entrepreneurial gifts to work towards attaining the research necessary to bring about the end of cancer, and honor the memory of Meghan McCarthy.
