Tewksbury High, Shawsheen Tech Primed To Make Strong Runs In North Hockey Sectionals

Feb 23, 2020 08:04PM ● By Bill Gilman

Redmen, Rams

The Tewksbury High and Shawsheen Tech boys hockey teams are both well positioned to make deep runs in the North Sectionals, which begin this week.
The Redmen (14-3-3) are the No. 3 in what appears to be a wide open Division 2 North Tournament. Masconomet has the top seed at 16-3-1, with Lincoln-Sudbury No. 2 at 16-3-2. Behind Tewksbury are No. 4 Marblehead (14-3-4), No. 5 Triton Regional (14-4-2) and No. 6 North Andover (12-3-6) in the 16-team field.
Tewksbury will open play Tuesday at 5 p.m. against No. 14 North Reading (9-8-3) in a game to be played at the Chelmsford Forum. With a win, Tewksbury would take on either North Andover or No. 11 Lynnfield (11-7-2) in the quarterfinals. Again, that game would be played in Chelmsford, day and time TBA.
Shawsheen Tech (13-6-1) finds itself as the No. 3 seed in Division 3 North, another sectional with no clear-cut favorite.
The Rams have earned a first-round bye in the 13-team tournament. They will host a quarterfinal game against either No. 6 Latin Academy (11-7-2) or No. 11 Northeast Regional (10-9-1).

Complete brackets for the Division 2 and Division 3 North Sectionals are found below.
