Feb 26, 2020 02:10AM ● By Bill Gilman
There was exactly 5 seconds separating 2nd place from 17th place in the girls' 600M at the MIAA All-State Championships over the weekend at the Reggie Lewis Center in Boston.
Now consider that e 2nd place runner, Amyah Santana of Wachusett Regional, was a full 5.21 seconds behind Tewksbury's Makayla Paige, who easily added another title to her trophy case.
Paige's winning time of 1:30.61 was nine-tenths of a second off her own meet record, set in 2019, but she made quick work of a field that featured several of the best middle distance runners in the state.
