SHEILA BISSETT HONORED BY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WITH CARMON CUNNINGHAM BUSINESS LEGACY AWARD

Mar 20, 2020 12:45AM

At their Music Bingo Bash on March 6th, Wilmington/Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce Board Executives presented the 2020 Carmon Cunningham Business Legacy Award to Sheila Bissett, Building and Events Manager, at the Aleppo Shriners for her business success and generosity to the community.

Nominations for the award were solicited from community business owners and residents.  Here are a few excerpts from those nominations:

“Sheila, very quietly and humbly, has been a steady and consistent supporter of the local and regional business community and the Town.   When space has been needed for events, carnivals, memorial services, etc. when no other locations were available, Sheila and the Shriners’ generosity and community spirit, have been instrumental in ensuring these activities continue.  Wilmington’s Fun of The Fourth celebration, as it exists today, may not even exist if Sheila and the Shriners had not stepped in to help keep it running during the years of the new HS construction.”

“Sheila has served on the Wilmington/Tewksbury Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors for 15 years.  She has been a key player in the Chamber’s promotion and execution of major fundraising events and overall success.  Sheila is a person you can always count on.  She gives selflessly and will do so for anyone while never looking for praise or recognition.“

“Sheila is so deserving of this award!  Her kindness, generosity and compassion to someone she just meets, or has known her entire life is something everyone admires.  Sheila’s work ethic and can-do attitude is highly respected among her colleagues, fellow Chamber members, and town officials.”
