Hyde Park Couple Nabbed On Meth Charges, Warrants
On June 27, 2020 the Tewksbury Police Department arrested Damian Smith, 41,of 11 Edson Ter, Hyde Park, MA for trafficking a Class B substance over 18 grams- methamphetamine, possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance (subsequent offense)-psilocybin and for having numerous arrest warrants. Abigail Kidson, 20, of 11 Edson Ter, Hyde Park, MA was also arrested for trafficking a Class B substance over 18 grams- methamphetamine and possession with intent to distribute a Class C substance-psilocybin.
Officers responded to the area of the Brown Street Boat Launch for a report of an argument between two parties. When officers arrived on scene they observed Smith and Kidson sitting inside of their vehicle. Officers approached the vehicle and spoke with Smith and Kidson.
While speaking with Smith and Kidson officers learned that Smith had six (6) active warrants for his arrest. Smith was subsequently placed under arrest for the warrants. Based on the observations made by officers on scene, Officer Colin Trelegan and his K-9 partner Leo responded to the location to assist.
As a result of the investigation Smith and Kidson were found to be in possession of approximately 27.6 grams of Methamphetamines and 15 grams of Psilocybin.
Smith was held on $25,000 ($2,500 cash) bail and is due back in Lowell District Court on July 28, 2020 for a Probable Cause Hearing.
Kidson was released on personal recognizance and is due back in Lowell District Court on July 28, 2020 for a Probable Cause Hearing.
