Driver Arrested For OUI, Also Had Fentanyl, Steroids

On June 29, 2020 at 2:20pm the Tewksbury Police Department arrested Ahmed Mustafa, 39, of 295 Marshal St., Tewksbury for operating under the influence (drugs), Possession of a Class A Substance (Fentanyl) and Possession of a Class E Substance (Steroids).
Officers responded to a call for an erratic operator on East Street and affected a motor vehicle stop by the Chandler Street intersection. Officer’s observed a bag with a ‘white powdery/granular substance’, believed to be Fentanyl, on the passenger seat and a similar substance around Mustafa’s nose. After completing field assessments, Officers determined Mustafa to be under the influence of a controlled substance and he was subsequently taken into custody.
An inventory search of the motor vehicle yielded two vials of steroids which were seized as evidence.
Mustafa was later released on personal recognizance and is due to be arraigned on June 30, 2020.
