Laughter Circle ON ZOOM (*RR)
Monday, August 10, 7pm
This program combines voluntary laughter exercises with gentle breathing techniques to teach the body how to laugh without relying on jokes or humor. This is a participatory program where we will create moments to laugh in through guided actions. No need to bring a yoga mat--most of the program is seated, with options for standing or gentle movement. What are the benefits of laughter? Mood elevates. Stress, depression and tension decrease. Immunity improves. Lung capacity increases through deep breathing, enhancing oxygen delivery to all parts of the body. Endorphin and serotonin levels rise. Laughter provides an excellent internal massage to digestive tract as well as improving blood supply to the internal organs. People who laugh don’t worry as much as people who don’t laugh. Session will last about 30 minutes. This program is for all ages.

The program will be supplemented with audio clips of music and excerpts from interviews with the band members. Despite being born fifteen years after the band broke up, Aaron Krerowicz worked as a full-time independent professional Beatles scholar from June 2015 through August 2018. He has authored six books about The Beatles, and delivered more than 500 educational presentations throughout the United States, England, and Canada.

A Look Back At The 1960s Through The Music Of The Beatles ON ZOOM (*RR)
Wednesday, August 12, 10:30am
The Beatles are one of the most influential bands in music history. With an estimated 73 million viewers, the “Lads from Liverpool” burst onto the scene in 1964 on The Ed Sullivan Show. On April 4, 1964 they became the only artists to ever occupy the top five spots of the Billboard Hot 100 chart simultaneously. They would go on to release landmark albums like Revolver and Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. They consistently broke musical barriers and have sold more than one billion records. Fran Hart, founding member of the Beatles tribute band 4EverFab, will perform live music with a multi-media presentation to explore not only the music of The Beatles, but the influence they exerted on the cultural landscape. Learn more about Fran HERE. Sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
