Tewksbury Library Summer Living History Series

Every Wednesday This Summer!

The library is hosting outdoor “living history” performances every Wednesday night, from 7pm to 8pm, on its event lawn. These popular one-person plays, performed by professional actors and actresses, include portrayals of Henry David Thoreau (Richard Smith) on July 19, Queen Victoria (Sally Mummey) on July 26, Amelia Earhart (Sheryl Faye) on August 2, Isabella Stewart Gardner (Jessica Piaia) on August 9, Vincent Van Gogh (Ted Zalewski) on August 16, the first U.S. female solider Deborah Sampson (Judith Kalora) on August 23, and Louisa May Alcott (Jan Turnquist) on August 30. There is also a special “Evening of Victorian Medicine” performance with actress Janet Parnes set for July 12. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own blankets or chairs. In case of inclement weather, concerts will take place in the library’s first-floor Fairgrieve Wing.
